About Me

My Credentials

A former sports writer for more than a decade, Paul Stone has been seriously handicapping college football for more than 30 years and ranks among a select few who have won multiple major handicapping contests in Las Vegas, finishing first overall in both the 2011 Leroy’s College Football Challenge and the 2013 Golden Nugget Friday Football Showdown.

More recently, both of Paul’s entries posted high finishes in the 2018 Golden Nugget’s Ultimate Football Challenge as the Texas native took both 3rd and 11th place out of more than 300 contestants.

Paul does not divide his energies among various sports. He is a specialist, he is an expert. College football is what he devotes all his energies to and the only sport in which he markets his top opinions to others seeking to have an edge over the marketplace.

My Recent Performance

In 2018, Paul Stone Sports was a combined 63-43 ATS (Against The Spread) on sides and totals for a winning percentage of 59.4 percent as monitored by The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City. Over the past three seasons (2016-18), Paul Stone Sports has hit 56 percent of his 344 monitored plays ATS. If you’re easily swayed by outlandish claims by unscrupulous, unsavory sorts, then that percentage may not seem overly impressive.

However, if you have realistic expectations and experience in the marketplace, I believe you understand this level of monitored performance over that sample size is matched by very few.

My Commitment to True Transparency

Let’s face it. Most persons who market their “expertise” to the general public grossly misrepresent their performance and credentials and the consumer has little - if any - ability to verify claims and records.

Again, unlike the vast majority of persons marketing selections, I am one of a relatively small number of handicappers choosing to be monitored by the most respected and truly independent monitoring company in the U.S. - The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City.

Sure, it cost a little bit, but I believe the consumer deserves the peace of mind that comes with knowing they’re dealing with someone who’s dealing straight and not trying to sell them swamp land in Arizona.

If you’re contemplating using someone to supplement your handicapping, ask them if they’re monitored by The Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City. Hopefully, they are. If not, they‘ll probably hem and haw and offer up some questionable excuses about their decision to be unaccountable to the public.
